Healthy Radiance in A Few Things or Less

WRITTEN BY: KATHRYN ABBOT

Healthy radiance is one of the things many of us want for our skin, especially when it comes to showing off our beauty this coming holiday season. Sometimes, however, the number of products and steps you need to get that natural glow tends to get higher and higher over time. The last thing anyone would want for their skin routine is for it to get more complicated than it seemingly is.

Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way.

There are other ways to improve, protect and nourish your skin without having to buy and use entire (and often big) sets of products. In fact, many various and even established sources already explore said ways, ranging from what we eat and how we go about our daily lives to even which basic skincare principles to follow. Now, this is not to say that we can’t or shouldn’t use beauty products at all, but rather, we can use both the products and some healthy lifestyle tips to take care of our skin.

So, with a few items from the Gift of Healthy Radiance bundle of our October 2023 Holideals, here is how you can get…

Healthy Radiance in a Few Things or Less

1 . Eat More Fruits, Vegetables, & Other Skin-Boosting Food

Try including more fruits and vegetables, even whole foods, into your daily diet, especially those rich in Vitamins E, A, C, B2, B6, and D, since these help keep your skin safe, firm, and elastic. These foods include sweet potatoes, carrots, citrus fruits, cantaloupes, and more. And, if you still need help in getting some of those nutrients, plant-based and traceable supplements like the NUTRILITE™ Acerola C Chewable Tablet and the NUTRILITE™ Lecithin-E with Honey Tablet from the Gift of Healthy Radiance bundle can also help.

    2. Stay Hydrated

You can also hydrate yourself by drinking more water, whether with or without a moisturizing product on hand. According to a study in 2015, the recommended amount of water people should drink is around 2 liters or more, which is enough to help your skin and its barrier (shield against environmental threats) function. In short, water is your best friend for skincare.

    3. Avoid Skin-Harming Habits

Another good place to start in helping your skin improve and get that healthy radiance is to avoid or cut off habits that damage it and your overall health. These include things like binging on alcohol, smoking, excessive exfoliation, overexposure to sunlight (beyond 15 minutes), sleeping without washing your face, picking on your skin, etc., since all of these contribute to making your skin weak, dry, and prone to infections, injury, and more.

    4. Manage Stress

      Few_Things_or_Less-5.png

Find ways to help you unwind in your daily life, as stress can often damage and age your skin (among other health issues like autoimmune ones triggered by this). A few ways you can do this are by taking short breaks in-between, relaxing and/or productive hobbies to let off steam, meditation, and more. The more you minimize stress in your life, the better your skin’s health and protection will be.

      5. Get Quality Sleep

      Few_Things_or_Less-6.png

The common notion of beauty sleep has more truth to it than you may think, as a full, uninterrupted 7-9 hours of rest can help your skin repair itself, aid in blood circulation, and lessen the risks of your skin aging prematurely. So, whenever you can, try to get some quality sleep consistently and daily, both to get that healthy glow and for your overall health.

        6. Exercise Regularly

Exercising and being physically active in general helps in improving your overall physical performance and well-being. But a lesser-known fact is that daily exercise also supports your skin’s health by keeping your other bodily functions up and running at their best (such as blood circulation), as well as being a good way to relieve stress. Just make sure to drink a lot more water, and if going outdoors, put on sunscreen with SPF 30+ and above during your workouts.

          7. Start and Build Your Routine on The Basics

            Few_Things_or_Less-8.png

According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AADA), you can boil down the basics of skincare into a 3-step process: cleanse, moisturize, and protect. By following this principle and adjusting to your skin type, you now have a clear outline on what to look for in your skincare routines without it getting complicated. And if you want to add extra stuff to help with brightening, hydrating, and softening your skin, you can go for our Gift of Healthy Radiance’s ARTISTRY Skin Nutrition™ Vitamin C + HA3 Daily Serum and an additional free sample of the ARTISTRY™ Intensive Skincare Advanced Skin Refinisher.

All in all, these are just some of the ways you can attain that natural glow without having to pile on sets of beauty products (and/or spend a large amount on them) or make your process complicated. It is good to also have natural ways of getting your skin to glow and be healthy along with using the items in your skincare routine. And the best part about this is that many of the tips above aren’t just good for your skin, but also for your overall health.

So, be it through a simple process or a few lifestyle-changing tricks, you can reach healthy radiance in a few things or less.
