Looking back on her previous jobs, Shiedylin Faith Baguio, simply known as 'Faith' to her friends, had but one simple principle: seeking a rewarding profession that would enable her to positively influence people, in an environment where her worth as a woman is recognized. While she found contentment in her former workplaces, she always knew there was more to her journey.
Now nearing her ten years as a shop supervisor at Amway Philippines, Faith recounts her journey of discovering greater fulfillment and realizing her deeper purpose:
“Since joining Amway Philippines in 2014, I’ve always found joy in making positive changes in people. Now that I think of it, being here was an inspiring experience filled with exciting turns.
My story began almost a decade ago as a regional product trainer responsible for educating entrepreneurs about the usage and benefits of Amway products. Only four years later, I was promoted to shop supervisor and was tasked with overseeing and managing the daily operations of our store to improve its overall performance. It’s through this position that I learned a lot.
Something that I've come to realize is the importance of women like me finding satisfaction in our career and unlocking our full potential. For one to contribute significantly to their organization, they must be provided with equal opportunities and recognition, regardless of gender.
If I were to compare my time in Amway Philippines to my previous role as a nutritionist dietitian, I would say I found fulfillment in different ways. While my hospital work focused on individual care, here, I was offered a chance to remarkably impact the lives of many, mine included. It's a place where I can thrive, make a difference, and have more confidence.
One memorable experience that highlights how I felt supported by Amway Philippines was when I handled the renovation of our shop while being a mother to my newborn. Although it was challenging, the company helped me a lot by providing me with the necessary resources and showing me how an inclusive work environment acknowledges my worth no matter what.
As a woman, I feel empowered to be in Amway Philippines. I can’t imagine my later life without being here because this company heard my voice and supported me in my endeavors. It is where I witnessed myself grow, and where I will still be growing for years to come.
