Amway PH and Rise Against Hunger Philippines Partner for Yearlong Tondo Health Program

WRITTEN BY: RENZNEIL ROBLES

As a company centered on health and wellbeing, our mission has always been to empower individuals to lead better, healthier lives. Over the years, we have actively pursued this goal by championing holistic wellness and inspiring more people to do the same.

However, as we remain steadfast in advancing health and wellbeing, recent studies have pointed out an arising health concern among Filipinos. In particular, the number of undernourished pre-school children and overweight adults continues to rise, prompting the need to refocus our efforts on advocating for an improved health span through a healthy body age. Thus, we have also leveraged our partnership with Rise Against Hunger Philippines (RAHP) to launch a new project, the Dietary Supplementation Program (DSP)

A new comprehensive health initiative, DSP is the result of our commitment to impart social change and uplift the lives of the people. This same cause is a shared purpose between RAHP, our time-tested partner, in its mission to end world hunger and support the most vulnerable populations across the globe.

On March 14, 2024, an event held at Better World in Tondo, Manila kicked off the yearlong implementation of DSP. Our goal is to nourish the lives of families in Tondo, one of the poorest districts in Metro Manila, by providing 500 preschool children with a daily feeding program and empowering 100 mothers with a series of workshops on livelihood, nutrition, and health.

During the kickoff, our Marketing & Communications Head Carla Cruz, held a talk on “Maintaining Healthy Weight and How to Manage Healthy Cravings.” She tackled the importance of managing weight as the key to improving one’s health span and how this can be accomplished through Nutrilite™ and BodyKey™.

On the other hand, guest speaker Romielyn ‘Jing’ Nazareneo from Galang Philippines, Inc. led a presentation entitled, “3Ms: Si Mama, May Kakayahan, May Karapatan.” She advocated for equality among women, especially mothers, by recognizing their rights and capabilities.

Through this milestone, Amway Philippines and RAHP are creating a legacy. And I believe that if we can do it, so can anyone!” Corporate Affairs Executive Owen Rea said in a statement."
