Rodrigo Tambis, known as ‘Cody’ or ‘Brother’ to his colleagues, has been with Amway Philippines since 1997. For over 27 meaningful years, he has been undeniably one of the pillars who witnessed the company’s ups and downs while contributing to its growth and transformation. His career, intertwined with his personal journey, is truly a legacy in itself.
In time for his 60th birthday celebration, Cody also concludes a chapter in his life. As he officially retires from his role as Admin Services and Safety Advisor, he reflects on his learnings and experiences with Amway Philippines:
“Nagsimula ang career ko sa Amway Philippines bilang isang Mailing Clerk noong 1997. I was only at my early adulthood age of 33. After a few years, nalipat ako sa Procurement Department as a Purchasing Assistant bago na-promote as Admin Services and Safety Advisor.
Kompara sa mga dati kong trabaho, dito ko lang sa Amway na-experience ang magkaroon ng totoong healthy work environment. As a father, my biggest goal has always been to take care of my wife and children. Pero mahirap magawa ‘yon kung laging busy o hectic ang work.
Kaya masasabi kong this company is different dahil adjusted ang time for work as respect to the personal lives of the employees. Amway Philippines helped me provide for my family and also spend ample time with them. Dito, napagtapos ko ang dalawa kong anak sa kolehiyo, nakabili ng mga sasakyan, nakapag-ipon, at naipagawa ang aming tinitirhan.
Siguro, personal accomplishment ko sa Amway ay ang maraming Occupational Safety and Health inititiaves na pinangunahan ko. From trainings at safety audit, may mga ilang awareness campaigns din tayong pinatupad since 2019. Nang dahil sa mga ito, the Department of Labor and Employment found Amway Philippines compliant to their standards.
Siyempre, masaya rin ang family ko sa mga benefits na napakikinabangan namin. Malungkot naman kasi mami-miss ko ang araw-araw na setup sa office, at dahil maiiwan ko ang mga kasama ko sa trabaho sa 27 years, bago man at luma.
After retirement, I will enjoy my pension and focus on dedicating more time with my family. I also plan to maybe start a small business just to keep me busy while waiting for the days when I am no longer capable of doing things.
