8 Health Tips for Men for a Healthier Lifestyle

Incorporating a healthy lifestyle into a busy schedule may be close to impossible for a lot of busy men out there. We all know that our health should be our top priority in our lists— after all, the only person who truly got your back is yourself.

But how can you prioritize your health when you can’t even squeeze in a quick session of gaming after work? No worries! We list down 8 tips that may seem small and insignificant, however; these small steps are huge changes in hindsight that will help you live a healthier and happier life!

  1. Touch some grass

Literally. Go outside and do more physical activity that will keep your body moving. Skip the long traffic and try commuting to your workplace by walking. This may feel terrible at first, with the sudden increase in your daily steps making you extremely fatigued when you get home; but you get rewarded as your body gets used to it until you no longer feel tired compared to the first few weeks of adding this to your routine.

Health experts recommend exercising for at least 3 to 4 times a week through cardio and strength training, and brisk walking falls under these two categories— so you don’t have to worry about doing two sets of exercises to fulfill this!

  2. See a doctor.

When was the last time you saw a doctor? If your answer is something along the lines of “when I got sick a long time ago,” then it’s time to be aware that you should have a doctor check up on you at least once a year (and as needed in between). You should NOT go to a doctor only when you are already sick or in pain— this is bad practice that is done by many to save money. But come to think of it, won’t you spend more money treating an illness compared to getting a check-up and preventing said illness?

When you get frequent check-ups, it will be easier for your doctor to notice if there is something wrong, causing you to prevent getting sick and act on time when you get diagnosed with a sickness.

      3. Work smart, eat smart.

A lot of people seem to think that eating smart is easier said than done. Eating healthily is not really that hard when you make the time for it on your free days. Go shop at your local grocery and buy a variety of color categories of both fruits and vegetables. Remember to eat at least five servings (400g) each day to get all the phytonutrients you need!

For men, it is important to take note and include reds in their diet— these can be beets, berries, and tomatoes— since they support heart and DNA health along with prostate health, with the latter being something that men should particularly look out for as they age.

        4. Take supplements.

Not everyone has the luxury to spare time in making their lives healthier. This is totally understandable, especially for people who have busy schedules and have long working hours. Now, this is where supplements come in: they can help fill in nutrient gaps that are not being supplied by your diet.

For men, they should consider taking the NUTRILITE™ Saw Palmetto And Nettle Root Blend Softgel Capsule that helps maintain a healthy prostate. Reiterating the point mentioned above, men should be careful of their prostate health as the prostate gland tends to grow bigger as they start aging. The saw palmetto extract in the supplement helps support normal prostate function, and the nettle root extract supports the normal urinary flow.

Another supplement to consider is the NUTRILITE™ Daily Tablet, which has 11 essential vitamins and 8 minerals that meets your body’s nutritional needs. Best to take this when you know you aren’t getting all the nutrients you need in a day.

          5. Don’t smoke.

Smoking has no real-life benefits aside from the idea that it makes you look “cool” in doing so. The FDA has numerous warnings about the dangers of smoking and how it can cause irreparable damage to your body, so just don’t.

            6. Sleep early.

Sleeping early means that you also get to start your day early, which will make way for you to become more productive for the day. It is not a good idea to deprive yourself of sleep, as sleep deprivation messes with your body by lowering your metabolism and increasing your chances of gaining weight. Not only that, but sleep deprivation weakens your body’s immune system and affects your memory consolidation.

              7. Take care of your skin.

It is a common notion that having a skincare routine is only for women, which is a very outdated way of thinking. Skincare regimens have always been for everyone— washing your face with a facial wash or bar soap (if this is what you do: please don’t do this anymore) is already a simple skincare routine. When you take care of your skin, you are more than likely to feel more confident and content with yourself, which can boost your performance and productivity.

                8. Socialize with people

No man is an island. Every person needs to cultivate strong relationships with other people to feel connected. Having people by your side who are ready to hear what you have to say (and vice versa) is comforting, which in turn helps you relax and reduce stress. Stress can affect your overall wellness, so you should always look out for yourself if you are feeling down!
